With a ₹16.47 LPA average, a new-age B-school is being compared to the IIMs | HiveSchool of Business sets new placement transparency benchmark to back the claim

The Gurugram-based revenue B-school, which recently went viral on LinkedIn for outperforming 50% of IIMs on placements, has responded to public scepticism with a first-of-its-kind verification initiative and founder Nikhil Gaur committing to personally answer every placement query

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], August 10 : Weeks after going viral on LinkedIn for a placement record that outperformed 50% of IIMs, HiveSchool – India’s only revenue-focused business school – has announced a set of transparency measures rarely seen in Indian education: a placement report and video that name every single placed student along with their story, the ability for prospective students to reach out to any of them directly and independently of the institution, and a commitment from its founder to personally answer every placement-related question.

Key highlights:

  • Average CTC of ₹16.47 LPA and highest package of ₹27.8 LPA for the 2025-26 cohort
  • Median CTC of ₹15 LPA – a figure most institutes decline to publish
  • Top 25% average of ₹21.93 LPA; Top 50% average of ₹18.63 LPA; Top 75% average of ₹17.65 LPA
  • Placement season led by marquee recruiters including Adobe, Yatra and Payoneer, with 50+ companies participating in the process
  • Every placed student named in the official placement report and ‘Placement Decode’ video each with their individual story: the role, the company, the journey
  • Prospective students can reach out to any placed student directly  independent of the institution, with no counsellor or school representative involved

The announcement follows a familiar pattern in Indian education strong numbers met with public scepticism. When HiveSchool’s placement statistics circulated on LinkedIn, drawing comparisons with half the IIM list, the most common response was disbelief that a young institution could post such figures.

HiveSchool’s answer was not a rebuttal. It was a disclosure.

Unlike conventional placement reports built on anonymous averages, HiveSchool’s report and its official ‘Placement Decode video account for every single placed student of the cohort by name – along with each one’s story: the role they landed, the company that hired them, and the journey through the season. There are no aggregates hiding individual outcomes; every number in the report traces back to a named person.

The school has gone a step further on verification. Prospective students can pick any name from the report and reach out to that student directly –  independent of the institution. No counsellor arranges the call, no school representative sits in, and the conversations happen entirely outside HiveSchool’s involvement.

Alongside this, Nikhil Gaur will personally respond to every placement-related query from prospective students – on roles, companies, or compensation – without routing them through a counsellor or admissions team.

“We’re a young institution, and scepticism towards our numbers is fair,” said Nikhil Gaur, Founder and CEO, HiveSchool. “We can’t expect students to simply take our word for it nor should they. The most honest thing we could do was put every name and every story on record, and let people speak to our students without us in the picture. Trust in education has to be earned, and it has to go beyond audits.”

“If a student is going to invest a year of their life with us, they deserve to verify everything first,” he added. “We’d rather be questioned openly than doubted quietly.”

The school attributes its outcomes to its pedagogy. The 9-month, full-time program is built backward from the roles technology companies actually hire for – Sales, GTM, Growth, Founder’s Office and Program Management with a curriculum co-designed alongside recruiters and taught by practising revenue operators from leading technology companies rather than career academics.

Students spend the majority of the program on live work rather than case studies alone: building and carrying real pipelines, running outbound and GTM projects for operating startups, and training on the AI-native selling stacks used by modern revenue teams – with a deliberate orientation toward US-facing B2B markets, where a majority of the cohort’s roles were based. Assessments mirror the job itself: capstones are pitched to and evaluated by senior revenue leaders, so students graduate with work recruiters can examine, not just grades.

The move lands amid a wider debate on placement reporting in Indian management education, where institutes routinely publish averages without distributions, and outcomes remain difficult for applicants to independently confirm. By naming every student behind its numbers, publishing its complete percentile staircase including the median and opening direct, unmediated access to its placed cohort, HiveSchool hopes the disclosure sets a new benchmark for placement transparency in the industry.

Founded by Nikhil GaurPrabal Monga and Simar SekhriHiveSchool of Business runs a 9-month full-time Post Graduate Program building revenue talent for the global economy. The school, which featured on Shark Tank India, counts operators from leading technology companies among its mentors.
